This is a reproduction of the cross
that stands in New Orleans, Luisiana as a vigilant reminder of the many Irish
immigrants who lost their lives digging the canal from Basin Street to
Ponchatrain. It is estimated that up to 20,000 Irishmen lost their lives.
Brent Edward Griffin contracted with a local sculptor to reproduce this smaller
version of the 8ft cross which was shipped in from Kilkenny, Ireland. He is a
member of Irish American Cultural Society of New Orleans Louisiana who donated
the 8ft cross to Louisiana.
The Cross is made of ground marble and durable Portland cement. It is 27"
high and 11" wide and it weighs 35lbs.
This cross is ideal for your garden, back yard. This Celtic Cross stands or can
be mounted on your outside wall.
