Kevin Dillon- In the tradition of the Book of Kells. The ancient art of medieval illuminated manuscripts and illuminations. Fine Art Prints- These prints, both framed and matted, are reproductions of illuminated manuscript originals, scripted in the tradition of the Book of Kells by artist, Kevin Dillon. Using rediscovered medieval techniques, Kevin produces his own paints from crushed semi-precious stones, (lapis lazuli, cinnabar, malachite etc...) formulates the ink, scrapes and prepares the calfskin vellum, then meticulously scripts and illuminates each artistic piece, overlaying them with 24k gold. Kevin, son of Thomas Francis Dillon, Irish immigrant to Canada has been creating these manuscripts since 1988.
